If you prefer working with watercolour pencils or would like to do a quicker version of this sketch, this short demo gives you an idea of the process and the basic colours used.

The colours are layered before water is added and once dry I used a sharp black pencil at the end for the facial details.

Tip! If using a waterbrush (or water) it is really useful to have some tissue to hand to wipe the colour off of the brush as often as possible to avoid 'muddying' the sketch.
