Bonjour!  This 'menu' of 4 online workshops invite you to sketch some traditional French Mediterranean dishes.

Through the techniques in these videos you’ll learn more about sketching with watercolour, plus pick up a few nuggets (no pun intended!) about food from this region (and others) of France.    

There are 4 sketches on the menu, from l’aperitif through to a café gourmand.

For this workshop I recommend you have some specific sketching materials to hand including a pencil, white pen or paint, and some watercolours. 

I will be using the colour palette (see below) and a sketchbook with 300gsm paper.

The suggested materials are 

• some water and a tissue/rag
• pencil 
• watercolour brushes
• watercolour paints (I am using a palette with Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red, Permanent Rose, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Cerulean Blue, Ultramarine, Indigo and Purple Lake)

Additional but optional items are a black watercolour pencil, a white pen or some white gouache paint, a waterproof pen and a masking product (Fluid/Chinagraph) for the Moules. 

I will also use a small water spray, and a piece of scrap paper.

This workshop 'menu' can be done entirely at your own pace - there is no rush - and you can ask for feedback at any stage.
