Sketching with watercolour is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy your art anytime and anywhere. As a spontaneous way of painting it is often called urban or travel sketching, and you simply need a few basic materials to sketch what you see, as you see it, in the time that you have!

Many beginners feel overwhelmed before drawing in ink or placing that first brush stroke, so if you are new to sketching then this online workshop will help you build both knowledge and confidence from the comfort of your own home. 

You’ll learn some of the basics when it comes to materials needed, and tips and tricks to work with different subjects.  

To enjoy this workshop you don’t need any drawing or watercolour experience, just an open mind and some basic materials such as those in the Starter Sketch Kit, including

• pencil
• waterproof pens
• paper - ideally suitable for watercolour (200gsm or more)
• watercolour paints, at least 3 colours (red yellow blue)
