Every month in 2024 I will be visiting Vignobly Puy, a small vineyard and organic winery in the south of France to check-in with the owners and find out what's happening in the vineyards. I'll send you an email with a reference photo and a step-by-step guide to sketch a scene (or perhaps 2 or more!) that will help you complete a wonderful vineyard sketchbook.
You won't need many materials for these classes but the ones that I suggest are below:
This is a very special series of tutorials and will be suitable for complete beginners or anyone who already has some sketching experience. We'll combine different techniques for travel journaling and and I'll be sharing lots of tips for watercolour and drawing. Subjects we'll sketch will include vineyards (of course!), buildings, vehicles, animals, still life, flowers, landscape, people and many more...
The Languedoc Vine Guardian program was set up in 2021 to help Emmanuel Puy, a talented young Minervois wine maker following the unusual late spring frost which devastated his vines reducing his crop by over 75%. Vin en Vacances reached out to their customers offering them a chance to come to the rescue by adopting a row of vines in return for a case of wine and a deep-rooted connection to the Puy vineyard. The response was fantastic, and their support has helped this small independent winemaker to overcome the damage, thrive again and continue to produce delicious Languedoc wines.
Guardians who adopt a row of Vignoble Puy vines receive a case of wine, invitations to events at the domaine, free use of the vineyard trail and picnic area and their name stake planted at the end of their adopted row of vines.
This year Emmanuel and Leanne Puy have introduced Copains de Puy which is aimed at people living outside of Europe who would like to support this organic winery by sponsoring a row of vines.
